Covenant Baptist Church Nakuru is a church plant of Emmanuel Baptist Church Nairobi. The vision for this church plant came about because of the need for a faithful, Bible-preaching church in Nakuru. Therefore, through prayers and the efforts of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a number of individuals on ground here in Nakuru, weekly Bible study meetings were initiated from August 2017, culminating into a church plant on July 2018.
Preaching Christ the joy of the nations (2 Corinthians 5:13-15). We are firmly convinced at Covenant Baptist Church that there is no other source of joy unto which man can find peace with God apart from Christ. Hence it is our main aim at Covenant Baptist Church to preach Christ as the only sure and steady anchor upon which man can find true and lasting joy.
To gather God’s people who will worship Him faithfully (Revelation 7:9-10). This is the call that all Churches ought to abide in. That Christ died to purchase a people of His own who will worship Him faithfully. And this is the particular cause that as Covenant Baptist Church abides in.
We first and foremost care and look out for one another being all members of the body of Christ
We commit ourselves to being faithful witnesses of Christ to the people in Nakuru
We devote all our energies to directing people’s hearts to Christ
We will endeavor to live out the love of Christ to the people in Nakuru Town and beyond.
As a church we believe that the Bible gives us two main offices to govern the Local Church. These are the eldership and the Deaconate (1 Tim. 3:1-13, Acts 6:1-7, Titus 1:5-9). We believe in the plurality of these two offices. At the same time, we acknowledge the need for patience and carefulness in the selection of the men to hold these two offices.
We are currently reaching out to people in Nakuru through: Weekly Bible studies, Evangelism, Training (reaching out to young pastors and providing opportunities for training them), Conferences, Forums and organized apologetic gatherings where we engage them in question and answer sessions
