About the church

CrossPoint Bible Church Nakuru is a church plant of Emmanuel Baptist Church Nairobi. The vision for this church plant came about because of the need for a faithful, Bible-preaching church in Nakuru. Therefore, through prayers and the efforts of  Emmanuel Baptist Church and a number of individuals on ground here in Nakuru, weekly Bible study meetings were initiated from August 2017, culminating into a church plant on July 2018.

Church Polity

Church Polity

As a church we believe that the Bible gives us two main offices to govern the Local Church. These are the eldership and the Deaconate (1 Tim. 3:1-13, Acts 6:1-7, Titus 1:5-9). We believe in the plurality of these two offices. At the same time, we acknowledge the need for patience and carefulness in the selection of the men to hold these two offices.

Christ-Centered

Christ-Centered

We devote all our energies to directing people’s hearts to Christ

Missional Strategy

Missional Strategy

We are currently reaching out to people in Nakuru through: Weekly Bible studies, Evangelism, Training (reaching out to young pastors and providing opportunities for training them), Conferences, Forums and organized apologetic gatherings where we engage them in question and answer sessions

God’s Community

The Church of Jesus Christ is the community of God’s own people on Earth. Everything changes when one is born into it by the Gospel of Christ. By participating fully in the life of Christ’s Church through faithful and active membership into a Local Church a person will experience the indescribable joys of belonging to the family of God while reaching out to a lost and broken world.

At CBC we treasure all our moments of coming together to sit under God’s authoritative word especially on the Lord’s Day. We gather, hungry and thirsty, for the Word of God. This is where our Church life is both born and sustained. On Sundays this Word comes to us in both the Bible Study (9:00 am-10:00 am) and in the expository preaching from the Scriptures (11:00 am-12:00 noon).

Fellowship is one of the means of grace the Lord has given us. We therefore seek to encourage one another as we live out the charge of Hebrews 10:24-25 through our weekly community groups. These meetings take place on Friday evenings in the various estates in Nakuru where our members live.

At CBC we, by the grace Christ supplies, can only realize that we plant and water but only God gives the increase. We therefore humble ourselves before Him in dependent prayers as we seek His blessing on the work of the Gospel He has called us into. We do this corporately every Thursday, 6:00 pm-7:00 pm at the Church. You are welcome.

The habit of private prayer, and the constant practice of heart-communion with God—are the surest indicators of the work of the Holy spirit upon the soul.

Charles Spurgeon

The divinest ministries of each day are the small services of love which God sends across our way. The half-hour the busy man takes from his business. . .

  • to comfort a sorrow,
  • to help a discouraged brother to start again,
  • to lift up one who has fainted by the way,
  • to visit a sick neighbor and minister consolation,
  • or to give a young person needed counsel

— is the half-hour of the day that will shine the most brightly when the records of life are unrolled before God.

J. R Miller

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.

C. S. Lewis

At CBC, we believe that God gathers His people through the Gospel for them to belong to each other in the context of Local Churches in a mutual relationship that has both privileges and responsibilities. We therefore highly value Church membership as the only way God’s people can live out the Gospel together and live out the call of Christ on the Church.
